Most residential concrete in Northland neighborhoods is about making the property work better — a driveway you're not embarrassed by, a backyard you can actually use, a side yard that doesn't turn into a mud pit. These five services handle the majority of that work.

Retaining WallsDecorative Concrete
Decorative concrete adds texture, color, and pattern to patios, entries, pool surrounds, and outdoor features. When it's properly specified for Kansas City's freeze-thaw winters, it holds up and looks good long-term. The variables that matter most are mix design (minimum 4,000 PSI for exterior surfaces), control joint placement to manage seasonal movement, and sealing on a two-to-three year schedule.
Common patterns in this area include ashlar slate, cobblestone, flagstone, wood plank, and brick. Staining can be done with acid stains or water-based stains depending on the desired finish and substrate.

Repair & Replacement
Driveways and patios in Northland neighborhoods built in the 1970s and 80s are approaching or past the end of their practical life. Cracked, settled, and heaved slabs are common — and the question for most homeowners is whether repair makes sense or whether replacement is the better investment.
We assess both options at the site visit. Surface cracking and minor spalling often point toward repair or resurfacing. When sections have heaved or settled significantly, when the base has failed, or when cracks indicate ongoing soil movement, replacement is usually the more practical long-term answer.
